Plan for Personal Growth

Do you have a plan for your personal growth? It is amazing how much we learn as babies and then kids growing up.

Think about how little a baby knows? It is so much fun to watch as a baby grows and learns new things.

Kids are constantly in learning mode. But for many people, as we get older that learning process really slows down. How many people get out of college and make a commitment to never read another book? It is sad because learning new things is exciting! It is what keeps us young.

I have found that I am happiest when I am growing and learning. Nothing stays the same. If a garden is left alone it will start to die and become full of weeds.

The same is true with each of us. We have to be intentional about growing ourselves. We have to keep planting seeds and pay attention to our garden.

So consider creating a plan for Personal Growth. There are a lot of ways to grow… trying new things, getting around people who challenge you, listening to podcast and audios, and reading great books. Try creating a simple personal growth plan for yourself.

If you haven’t read a book in a while, set a goal to read one book a month. And I mean a biography or some book that can challenge you and teach you something new. If you have sold yourself on the belief that you are not a “reader” (which is not true but you can deal with that later!), then try Audible. It is a great app for purchasing audio books that you can listen to in the car. It is very easy to listen to a book a month.

Whether you set a goal to read a book or two a month, sign up for a new online class, or join some group of people who can challenge you, I encourage you to make personal growth a priority.  You will be happier and it will also make you better at everything else you do.
